Ridgefield Commemorates America at 250 (RCA250) is thrilled to mark America’s 250th anniversary with signature programs, exhibitions, and events presented in partnership with Ridgefield’s cultural organizations, leading up to a town-wide commemoration on July 3–4, 2026.

The summer commemoration festivities will kick-off with the Memorial Day Parade, followed by the Liberty Ball on July 3, and a July 4th community celebration in Ballard Park.This once-in-a-generation milestone invites us to reflect on our nation’s founding, honor Ridgefield’s unique place in American history, and come together as a community to imagine what comes next.

Happy Birthday America! A Member Exhibit

As part of the celebration of America’s semi- quincentennial, Ridgefield Guild of Artists kicks off 2026 and America’s 250th birthday with an exhibit marking this momentous anniversary and our founding fathers’ signing of the Declaration of Independence. Exhibit Runs from January 17-February 8.

Sybil’s Ride World Premiere!

Join the RIdgefield Theater Barn and Feisty Elephant Productiions for a premiere play of puppets telling the story of Sybil Ludington’s ride in 1777 to sound the alarm that men were needed to fight at the Battle of Ridgefield during the American Revolution.

The Underground Railroad in Ridgefield: A Hidden Piece of Black History Revealed

Ridgefield Town Historian, Jack Sanders, will be joined by Ridgefield Poet Laureate, Ira Joe Fisher, for a conversation centered around Sanders’ book, Uncle Ned’s Mountain, Three centuries of African Americans — free and enslaved — in a small New England town.

Ridgefield CT Passport Experience

After a fun and successful summer in 2025, the Ridgefield Passport Adventure will return Memorial Day weekend 2026! Explore Ridgefield’s history with a hands-on scavenger hunt that guides you through 14 local landmarks — a fun and educational experience for all ages.
